At present in fact rewire slave mode seems fairly pointless for anyone who uses VSTs a lot. Not only that - it is useful as well.! If you wish to compose in Live then mix in Pro Tools/Reaper/Audition/Cubase/etc then it's plain annoying that at present everything needs to be bounced, rather than simply open up the project within the other host. Now anyone who has used Bidule, Reaper, ACID, FL Studio, Project 5 (to name a few) knows that it indeed IS POSSIBLE in all those other programmes to use VSTs when in Rewire slave mode. The effort also is questionable, people asking for it normally just look for a workaround in order to use VSTs in a host that does not support VSTs. Pretty much grey area we will not explore further.
